South Side Bethlehem Photography Contest & Show Celebrates 9th Year in 2008

Bethlehem - A call for area photographers to compete in this anniversary show is being made. This local contest and show, sponsored by the South Bethlehem Historical Society and the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission, will be held at 4 new locations this year. TIMEZONES Global Goodies and Framing Gallery, Monsoon Art Sculpture and Frame Gallery, Fox Optical & Gallery and Home and Planet, all on East Third Street in South Bethlehem.

Works will be accepted for jurying on Monday, October 27, 2008. Selected works will be on display October 31st through November 28th.

Photographers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate. Whether amateur or professional, all participants are allowed up to 3 entries. A prospectus for the event can be found on the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission website – http://www.bfac-lv.org. All submitted works must be framed with suitable gallery hanging options.

This year’s event categories to include: Abstract South Bethlehem, South Bethlehem Business and Industry, and Contemporary Life and Historic South Bethlehem. Photographers are reminded to obtain a release form from any persons photographed.

Cash awards range from $50 to $250 for Best of Show.

The Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM, First Friday, November 7th at TIMEZONES Global Goodies and Framing Gallery, 322 East 3rd Street.
