The purpose of the South Bethlehem Historical Society is to preserve and make known the Second Chapter of Bethlehem's History (1850 - on) by focusing on the individuals, ethnic groups and material evidence which helped make possible the industrialization of South Bethlehem
S.B.H.S. was incorporated in 1985 by Joan Campion, Adrienne Redd, Magdalena F. Szabo, John W. Trotter, Jr. Bernice R. Trotter, and Helene Whitaker.

South Side Bethlehem Photography Contest & Show Celebrates 10th Year in 2010May 7 - 29, 2010Categories for the 2010 Contest & Show were: South Bethlehem's History, People and Architecture. Awards are given for each division. This annual local contest and show is sponsored by the South Bethlehem Historical Society and the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission. Photographers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate. Whether amateur or professional, all participants are allowed up to 3 entries. A prospectus for the event can be found on the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission website – http://www.bfac-lv.org. All submitted works must be framed with suitable gallery hanging options. Photographers are reminded to obtain a release form from any persons photographed. Join in the effort to help others see Historic South Bethlehem’s outstanding architecture, people, and our beauty today through your lens! All photographers are welcome!
